The results of the initial consultation are entered into the computer controlled laser Wavelight Eye-Q. Based on these results, the instrument creates an exact profile of treatment to ensure an accurate and sensitive result.Furthermore with the ability to use the unique software ‘Datalink’ the doctor can compare and authenticate the accuracy of the results with around 30,000 laser operations on the International database.
The laser Eye-Q uses a very small laser beam, only 0.68mm wide which shapes the surface of the cornea – like a fine file. The controlled uniform energy of the beam from when it’s first created until its termination guarantees that the whole surface of the cornea will be smooth. This promotes faster healing and high quality results.

All operations performed with an excimer laser Eye-Q are Wavefront optimised. The quality of vision after the operation is better than with the older generation of laser systems, and unwanted effects – such as blurred night vision, are eliminated. The individual laser eye surgery using the Eye-Q laser lasts only a few seconds. The speed of the laser pulse is 400 Hz and the removal of 1 diopter therefore takes approximately 2.5 seconds. It is the fastest laser with the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) certificate in the world. The high speed reduces the risk of infection caused by exposure of the operation site to the air.
